Chiang Kai-shek (1887 to 1975), also known as Generalissimo, was a Chinese political and military leader who served as head of the Republic of China from 1928 to 1949. After being forced from power and exiled by Chinese Communists after World War II, he continued to serve as president of the Republic of China on Taiwan. As head of the KMT, Chiang expelled the communist arm of the party and succeeded in unifying China. Under Chiang, the KMT focused on preventing the spread of Communism in China and fighting increasing Japanese aggression. When the United States declared war on Japan in 1941, Chiang and China swore their allegiance and assistance to the Allies. In 1946, Communist forces led by Mao Zedong, a.k.a. Chairman Mao, overthrew Chiang and created the People’s Republic of China. From 1949 until his death in 1975, the exiled Chiang continued to lead the KMT government in Taiwan, recognized by the United Nations as the legitimate government of China. Early Life: Chinese Revolutionary Chiang Kai-shek was born on October 31, 1887, in Xikou, a town now in the Zhejiang province of the People’s Republic of China, to a well-off family of merchants and farmers. In 1906, at age 19, he began his preparations for a military career at the Paoting Military Academy in North China, later serving in the Japanese army from 1909 to 1911, where he adopted the Spartan ideals of the Japanese Samurai warriors. In Tokyo, Chiang fell in with a group of young revolutionaries plotting to overthrow China’s Qing dynasty ruled over by the Manchu clan. With the fall of China’s last dynastic order, Chiang joined with other republican revolutionaries to oppose former Qing dynasty general Yuan Shikai, China’s new president, and eventual emperor. Association With Sun Yat-sen After an attempt to overthrow Yuan Shikai failed in 1913, Chiang helped found the Kuomintang (KMT) party. Largely withdrawing from public life from 1916 to 1917, he lived in Shanghai where he reportedly belonged to an organized financial crime syndicate known as Qing Bang, or Green Gang.  Returning to public life in 1918, Chiang began a close political association with influential KMT leader Sun Yat-sen. The LIFE Picture Collection/Getty Images / Getty Images Attempting to reorganize the KMT along communist lines, Sun Yat-sen sent Chiang to the Soviet Union in 1923 to study the policies and tactics of its Red Army. After returning to China, he was appointed as commandant of Whampoa Military Academy near Canton. As Soviet military advisers streamed into Canton to teach at Whampoa, Chinese communists were admitted into the KMT for the first time. Anti-Communist Leader of the KMT When Sun Yat-sen died in 1925, Chiang inherited leadership of the KMT and began trying to stem the rapidly growing influence of the Chinese communists within the party without losing the support of the Soviet government and military. He succeeded until 1927, when in a violent coup, he expelled the communists from the KMT and quashed the Chinese labor unions they had created. Hoping his communist purge would please U.S. President Calvin Coolidge, Chiang succeeded in establishing closer relations between China and the U.S. government.   Chiang now continued to reunify China. As supreme commander of the Nationalist revolutionary army, he directed massive attacks against northern tribal warlords in 1926. In 1928, his armies occupied the capital in Beijing and established a new Nationalist central government in Nanking headed by Chiang. The Xian Incident and World War II In 1935, even as the Empire of Japan threatened to occupy Northeast China, Chiang and his KMT continued to focus on fighting Communists within China rather than the external threat of the Japanese. In December 1936, Chiang was seized by two of his own generals and held hostage in China’s Xian Province in an attempt to force the KMT to change its policies regarding Japan. Held captive for two weeks, Chiang was released after agreeing to actively prepare his armies for war with Japan and to form an at least temporary alliance with the Chinese communists to help fight the Japanese invaders. With the horrific Japanese Rape of Nanking massacre in 1937, all-out war between the two countries erupted. Chiang and his armies defended China alone until 1941, when the U.S. and other Allies declared war on Japan. Post-World War II and Taiwan While China held an honored place among the Big Four allied victors of WWII, Chiang’s government began to decay as it resumed its pre-war struggle against internal communists. In 1946, the civil war resumed and by 1949, the communists had taken control of continental China and established the People’s Republic of China. 1943-Cairo, Egypt: President Roosevelt seated outside during the Cairo Conference with Mr. and Mrs. Chiang Kai Shek, and Winston Churchill. Bettmann Archive / Getty Images Exiled to the province of Taiwan, Chiang, along with his remaining Nationalist forces established a weak dictatorship on the island. Over the next two decades, Chiang reformed his Nationalist Party, and with ample American aid began Taiwan’s transition to a modern and successful economy. In 1955, the U.S. agreed to defend Chiang’s Nationalist government on Taiwan against future communist threats. However, the pact was weakened in the early 1970s by improving relationships between the U.S and the People’s Republic of China. In 1979, four years after Chiang’s death, the U.S. finally broke off diplomatic relations with Taiwan in order to establish full relations with the People’s Republic of China. Personal Life Chiang had four wives during his lifetime: Mao Fumei, Yao Yecheng, Chen Jieru, and Soong Mei-ling. Chiang had two sons: Chiang Ching-Kuo with Mao Fumei, and Chiang Wei-Kuo, whom he adopted along with Yao Yecheng. Both sons went on to hold important political and military positions in the Kuomintang government in Taiwan. Born and raised a Buddhist, Chiang converted to Christianity when he married his fourth wife, Soong Mei-ling, popularly called â€Å"Madam Chiang† in 1927. He spent the rest of his life as a devout Methodist. Death Months after suffering a heart attack and pneumonia, Chiang died of cardiac malfunction and renal failure on April 5, 1975, in Taipei at the age of 87. While he was mourned for over a month on Taiwan, Communist state-run newspapers in mainland China briefly noted his death with the simple headline â€Å"Chiang Kai-shek Has Died.† Today, Chiang Kai-shek is buried along with his son Chiang Ching-Kuo at Wuzhi Mountain Military Cemetery in Xizhi, Taipei City. Euthanasia Is The Meaning Of Good Death - 1215 Words

Euthanasia has the meaning of â€Å"good death†. Is there really such a thing as someone having a good death? The controversy behind this is active euthanasia is morally wrong. Active euthanasia is usually done to patients who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness and is a way to have an instant death instead of prolonging life. There are some places where euthanasia is already legally admissible, but people are having thought of making this act of killing legal throughout the country. I shall prove to you that actively killing someone is morally worse than letting someone die. Anyone who believes that God exist would agree that no one has the right to play God. No matter how you put it active euthanasia is still a form of murder. Thou shall not kill, I am sure you all have heard of that before. Giving a physician the right to actively kill is giving a person the right to play God. When it is your time to die it is your time to die. We never know what God has in store for us. I have had family members in my family who had terminal illness and fought until God said it was ready for them to come home. My Aunt had was diagnosed with lupus when she was 18. She went on to get married and have two boys. Her lupus took a toll on her body in her 30s, but she still fought to show her kids that you have to fight in life and put your faith in God. Choices, decisions and regret all have a deep meaning and reason behind them. When someone has power it does not give them the right to chose for another, but we forget sometimes that the person means no harm. There can be many theories behind every wrong choice, it can be something we would not like to make, but in order for the sake of humanity. We are scared to tell people that they are infected and instead don’t tell them. Humans are emotional creatures and in our nature it is rude to tell someone you have no hope but to die. We all want a chance to start over but sometimes we don’t get the right choices to make. For example, you are the one in power and are given two choices to help save your people. Option 1 is to tell people that they are plagued by infectious diseases and to let them leave. Option 2 is to hide the fact they are infected and to let them die. Option 1 will save their lives, but the disease will spread and infect everyone even themselves. On the other hand, option 2 will save humanity but the infected group will have to be sacrificed. Which option would you choose? The walking dead episode six â€Å"TS-19† is the last episode of season one which was aired on December 5, 2010. Written by Frank Darabont and directed by Guy Ferland. The key characters in this episode are Rick, Shawn, Lori, Dale and Doctor Edwin Jenner. This episode starts off with an outbreak of zombies on their camp and they have nowhere else to go. Ricky talks to the group about leaving camp as it is no longer safe. Ricky knew that in the city there is a facility named C. D. C that was working on a cure. The group had no chance but to search for this facility, even though they heard a lot of things that C. D. C no longer exists. The group finally decides to travel in the city where C. D. C is their only hope. A far travel ahead of them, thousands of miles away till they reach to the city when the part of Doctor Edwin Jenner arrives. The doctor is alone working in the lab testing the dead zombie TS-19, when all of a sudden he accidently drops a tube filled with viruses and deadly chemicals that he tries to wipe with his gloves, but it’s too late. The doctor has to evacuate the room when the alert goes on and an automated computer repeats â€Å"Alert status, air qualifiers indicate corrosive fumes, all personal must clear the room†. As he bolts out the lab, decontamination occurs which destroys all of his research and â€Å"TS-19† samples. All his hard work is gone which leads him to be depressed with no hope.. The doctor is alone in the medical building with no one to talk to except the computer webcam, until the group finally arrives at C. D. C, which alerts the doctor that survivors are outside. The doctor’s intention was to not let anyone in and was hoping they would just leave, but seeing the group begging to open the door he finally lets them in. The group enters C. D. C, and goes into a blood test demanded by Doctor Edwin Jenner. Later, they enjoy the luxury given a hot shower, wine, meal and learn the story of Jenner. Shane and Lori have an argument which does not end well, and leaves a scratch on Shane’s neck. The next morning Jenner shows the group a video of test subject 19 who was bitten, which he was forced to shoot the patient until Dale notices a clock that is counting to zero which leads the group to slam away with questions. C. D. C is running out of gas and the building is programmed to self destruct by itself. Jenner refuses to open the doors and convinces the group they can have an easy death. Group tries to persuade Jenner to open the doors and the clock is ticking. Jenner finally opens the door and warns them that the main doors are locked in the ground floor. Carol then pulls out a grenade and gives it to Rick, who sets it against the glass and pulls the pin. Two of the group members decide to stay while the rest drive away and are back to reality, facing zombies. As in this episode Doctor Edwin Jenner chooses for the group to die, he convinces to the group that â€Å"you will feel no pain and it will be the end of sorrow, grief and regret†. The group all knew Dr. Edwin had the power to either let them go or stay. Instead the doctor indulges everyone to stay letting them know the disadvantages, that out there is a brutal and agonizing death. Why does he make everyone stay with him to die when he let everyone in C. D. C in the first place? In my opinion I think the doctor realized that there is no hope for them so why not let them die here peacefully. This choice was rather much inhuman and no one was expecting this from Doctor Edwin. This action of Doctor Jenner was a reaction to the earlier choice since he was all alone and after the lab incident he completely changed. As Freud’s theory â€Å"in every man there is beast inside him†. It was as if he became from being humble to the complete opposite. How can someone save your life but in the end act as if he is god and decide your death. Doctor Edwin Jenner might not have done what was morally right, but he may have done what was necessary. He was trying to choose what was best for the group; the doctor didn’t want the survivors to become one of the walkers but instead wanted the rest of them to die without any pain. After much convincing, Jenner opens the gate and whispers in Rick’s ear and I think he says your wife is pregnant†. Since he took the blood test he would know, the reason I think he tells rick so late is because his intention was to not let everyone go. The doctor probably thought he shouldn’t tell Rick since he was going to let them all die. Or instead, Jenner didn’t tell Rick that Lori is pregnant, he told him that everyone is infected and maybe that’s why he refused to open the door. Maybe if he told the group when the clock was clicking that all of you guys are infected and it’s too late to do anything, then I think the group would stay behind and accept their death. Jenner probably didn’t want the group to be disturbed knowing the fact that they are infected and have no choice but to die in C. D. C. There can be many reasons why Jenner didn’t want to open the door. Another theory on the whisper is that: Jenner saw Shane’s â€Å"rape attack† on Lori, when Shane came to her drunk there might be a camera in the recreation room which the Doctor saw, and that could be the whisper in Rick’s ear. I don’t think one should lose hope and commit suicide just because your wife dies. There is always hope we just have to be patient. According to Plato, he attributes that â€Å"To know the good is to do the good† and Jenner had no right to keep all of the people locked up like hostages. However, virtue overcomes his heart and the doctor finally lets them free, but what if they didnt make it out in time? I don’t think his wife would be proud of him for this inhuman selfish act. Although his intention was to let everyone die peacefully, because he knew the zombies will hunt them down sooner or later. The doctor could have tried to come up with a cure, but instead he decided to commit suicide by staying inside the building that was about to blow up. In the episode of â€Å"TS-19† Dr. Edwin Jenner is observing a zombie. This person who was bitten is no ordinary person. It is Dr Edwin Jenner’s wife, the one who ran the facility and was the most important person in the company. How would it feel to be testing your wife who has been bitten by a zombie? I would say that is quite rasping. That is more like a suicide decision; personally if it was my wife I would not be able to handle the pain. In this episode Jenner shoots his wife when she turns into a zombie after waking up from death. He shows a video to the group of the demonstration but doesnt mention it to the group that he had to kill his own wife. The question is why would he hide this decision? Why didn’t he just tell the group in the beginning that the person who was bitten was his own wife? If the group would knew it was Dr Jenner’s wife they wouldnt trust him anymore. If you could have the courage to kill your wife, theres no doubt he would do the same to anyone. In my opinion, I think anyone would have kept that a secret. There was a reason for the doctor to hide that part, how can someone tell a group of strangers that he just killed his own wife, but at the right moment when there is no time. The whole perspective would change if he told them earlier; the people would think he is crazy. In my theory, I think Jenner didn’t want to live because of what happened in the lab incident. It wasn’t just about the important samples he lost but he was testing the samples of TS-19, Jenner accidently spilled some of the test tubes which he tried wiping it with his own hands and he felt a sting on his gloves. His gloves started to melt off his fingers and as he quickly took off the gloves he escaped the laboratory when decontamination occurred. In my theory that was the whole twist of Doctor Edwin Jenner to stay inside the building waiting for the clock to stop along with everyone else. Why would Jenner want to die such a death if he had so many chances to come up with a cure? So I think that’s why he decided to stay behind along with others since he is infected. In my opinion deep down inside, Jenner’s intention was for the well being for everyone because he didn’t want the rest of the group to turn into a zombies. A man must serve humanity and help others no matter what, but we live in a world where people are under a load of obligations of every kind (Auguste Comte). As The great known philosopher Thomas Hobbes, said that the right of nature of each man has to use his own power as he will himself for the preservation of his own nature. The choices made by Doctor Edwin Jenner might not be morally right, but he may have done what was necessary. I do not feel that when he refused to open the doors Jenner’s decision were selfish, cold hearted, or even cruel. He had a tough decision to make, although he did convince them to stay to die, but in the end he did what was the right choice, by letting them go. In my opinion the whisper in Rick’s ear was the whole twist in the episode and the true reasons behind Jenner to not let them go. In my opinion when Rick tells Jenner â€Å"your wife did not have a choice to start over, we do†, that is when Jenner realizes his choice is cruel and selfish.

Symbolism In The Scarlet Letter Essays (542 words) -

Symbolism In The Scarlet Letter Symbolism in The Scarlet Letter The Scarlet Letter is a book of much symbolism. One of the most complex and misunderstood symbols in the book is Pearl, the daughter of Hester Prynne. Pearl, throughout the story, develops into a dynamic symbol - one that is always changing. Pearl came to represent this symbolism in many ways. In The Scarlet Letter, Hester received the scarlet letter, A. She had to wear this letter upon her chest. This was the Puritan way of treating her as an adulteress. The Puritan treatment continued, because as Hester walked through the streets, she was looked down upon as if she were some sort of horrible being that had committed a terrible crime. This would give her much mental anguish and grief. On the other hand, God's treatment of Hester for her sin was quite different than just a physical token: he gave Hester the punishment of a very unique child which she named Pearl. This punishment handed down from God was a constant mental and physical reminder to Hester of what she had done wrong, and she could not escape it. In this aspect, Pearl symbolized God's way of punishing Hester for adultery. The fact that Hester's life was ruined for so long was the ultimate price that Hester paid for Pearl. With Pearl, Hester's life was one almost never filled with joy, but instead a constant nagging. Pearl would harass her mother over the scarlet A which she wore. Pearl would also make her own A to wear, and sometimes played games with her mother's, trying to hit it with rocks. When Hester would go into the town with Pearl, the other children would make fun of her, and Pearl would yell and throw dirt at them. So, in this case, Pearl symbolized the decimation of Hester's life and mental state. Although Hester had so much trouble with Pearl, she still felt that Pearl was her treasure. Pearl was virtually the only thing that Hester had in life, and if Pearl wasn't in Hester's life, Hester would almost surely have committed suicide. Once in a while, Pearl would bring joy to Hester's life, and that helped her to keep on living. Pearl really symbolized a rose to her mother, at some times she could be bright and vibrant, and really love her mother, but at other times, she could be wilting. It was at these times when she was wilting that brought Hester the most grief. One final way in which Pearl symbolized something in the novel was with her association with the scarlet letter. Pearl really was the scarlet letter, because if Pearl had never been born, Hester would have never been found guilty of adultery, and thus never would have had to wear that burden upon her chest. Without that burden, Hester would have led a much better life then the one she had throughout the novel. In closing, Pearl was a source of many different kinds of symbolism. From being a rose, to representing the scarlet letter A, she was a kind of burden, yet love for Hester. And as a final note, Pearl was more then her mother's only treasure; she was her mother's only source of survival. History Essays

Marketing Paper

Marketing Paper Marketing Paper LVMH Moet Hennessy-Louis Vuitton SA is an empire of over sixty upscale refined brands. This luxury focused company sold over twenty-four billion in 2008. Trying to sell you a dream, the status quo, or just a quality product this company can attend to your finer needs. Comprised of a vast selection of high-end goods such as: Fashion and Leather, Perfume and Cosmetics, Wine and Spirits, Selective Retailing, and Watches and Jewelry. This company and all of subsidiaries are not concerned with average America. The 47% are not even thought of or brought up in meetings except how to keep their products out of their hands. Meaning these products are meant to make you feel elite, superior, and of worth. These products are highly counterfeited around the world and sold at average prices for average people not what Bernard Arnault wants. Spending over ten million annually just to keep them out of their hands. If you want it, buy it but buy the real thing it will make you feel much better than trying to be fashionable and fake. It also destroys the brands reputation when some trashy looking girl with no makeup in sweat pants, stained shirt, gas-station sunglasses, buying off brand everything because she cares really nothing of quality just the look has a Louis Vuitton hand bag on her side. This is why market skimming is used as a pricing strategy. Price is half of reputation. People who are willing to buy unique product at a premium price are the ones being marketed too. The high pricing strategy limits the introduction of the product in the beginning making it more desirable hopefully to innovators and early adopters wanting to be the leading status quo of their network. In Japan and Hawaii prices are increased in peak times to increase profits whenever possible. In 2001 when the market didn’t look good with interest rates at all time lows and the stock market looking gloomy Louis Vuitton increased prices. Why? To make themselves desirable to let people make sure that they know this is luxury, this is your status quo and that they know you will buy it if you have the money whether you have to save or just have the money lying around because you want to dream because everyone wants to be something more than average. Playing a 90-second commercial on TV to inform people about Louis Vuitton new corporate branding campaign to highlight the brand’s travel heritage was a wise move in my opinion. First off it’s a 90-second commercial, that’s three regular commercials. So obviously it costs more, it grabs your attention longer, and it’s like hanging a carrot in front of a horse to

CLEAR stands for: Collaborative, Limited, Emotional, Appreciable, and Refinable. The CLEAR goal-setting process is the more recent alternative to SMART goals. Adam Kreek, an entrepreneur and motivational speaker, developed this alternative to fit a more up-to-speed, agile environment. A CLEAR lead generation goal could be: We want to work as a marketing team to bring 5 new qualified leads from marketing blog objectives for sales readiness through quality content offerings. With your blog content, you want to decide on one of these goal-setting options, or create your own way, so that you can clearly understand your path. Your goal, regardless of methodology, should be set up in a way that allows you to see a beginning-to-end process for your work. CLEAR vs SMART Goals: which do you use for your #content #marketing?Yes, your blog should be designed around your readership’s needs and pain points, so you should have subgoals for that. However, your overall, most important goal should always be what lead results you want to see from your efforts. In addition to setting up your goal, you have a choice for how you’ll follow your content’s results. You can use calendar software, such as what you’d find with , or choose a do-it-yourself (DIY) calendar system  in Excel or Google Sheets. By following a calendar, you’re better able to see how your content is leading to or falling away from your established goal. You want to bring in leads on your end, but to do this, you also need to give your readers worthwhile content. To see the right audience convert on your content, you need to create highly-relevant blog resources that benefit your buyer personas. This pinpointed readership  will help you create articles that bring in the right audience for conversion. To create these personas, you can follow your own process, use a template, or follow these steps: Clean up and finalize your data. You likely now have an overwhelming amount of data for your personas. It’s time to filter and clean this up to a more manageable document. Focus on the critical data, such as what is working instead of what should be put aside. Keep your focus on creating reader personas that have data about what they like and what they want to see. Everything else can be removed. Ask your current readers for their input. When you’re looking for what is working versus what is missing, one of your best opportunities is to ask your current readership directly. Use a tool, such as Google Forms, to reach out to them via email, or add a survey to your social media accounts. Twitter polls, for example, are great for multiple choice questions. Your readers are eager to be heard, and asking them for their input is largely effective for that very reason. Evaluate how your readers behave. Use Google Analytics  for this because the tool gives you so much information about how your website visitors are behaving on your site. You can track which blog posts have the most visitors versus which ones have the longer time on-page data. Take advantage of this information to see what’s working for you so far versus what needs improvement. Compare your real data with your ideal data. Take what you know about your current readership and compare it to who your ideal reader would be. This is a hypothetical reader that you’d want to see visit your blog. They are contacts that fit with your conversion goal. Collect initial demographic data. Where do they work? What is their age and gender? Where are they located? These are all examples of the demographic data you should collect. This data should describe your current readership to help you understand your status now for better decisions in the future. An example of a tool you can use to collect this information is Google Display Planner. It provides detailed information about your audience via search results and website activity. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fiGfgo4RJDA Find your target audience’s pain points. Do some research on social media and review sites to see what your target readers are complaining about. Tracking mentions, hashtags, and keywords can help with that. This will give you important information about problems you can solve via blog content. The more relevant and timely your content is, the more conversions you’ll see. Ask your sales team for their findings. Your sales team acquires a great amount of data on your customers and prospects when they’re taking each one through the sales process. They can offer valuable information for your use as you build your personas. Take the information you acquire to develop personas based on what you know is effective so far. Audit your current content. Look at your current content to see if it’s getting any engagement. Blog comments and social shares are two ways to determine your content’s value. Check your bounce rate in Google Analytics. Analyze social media metrics to see how people are reacting to your content on each platform. Are they retweeting? Do they add a comment? Are you getting a lot of link clicks? These are all ways to determine whether your readers are enjoying or skipping your content. Apply the data into a persona document. You can use a tool, such as Xtensio, to create a manageable document for your personas. Or use your own Excel, Google Sheets, Word, or Google Docs template. To make your content relevant to the right audience, you need to know who they are and what they want to see from you. Your personas can help you with that. Personas aren’t permanent or final, however. They’re fluid as your target readership changes. As trends change, reader interests change. Your blog content and personas need to adapt with these changes. You need a plan for what you’re going to write and how you’re going to present your ideas. Otherwise, you risk creating scattered content. It will confuse your readers and likely make them leave without converting. That’s why it’s so critical for you to do the necessary research and planning before you start to write your draft. If you're looking for conversions, planning and researching your #blog #content is critical.First, Identify Your Topic. Finding a topic that will resonate with your target readers can be a challenge. You not only need to know what you’re going to write about but also how you’re going to present the idea in your article headline. You have tools available  to you that can help you with this process: Impact’s Blog Title Generator With BlogAbout by Impact Branding Design, you choose a keyword, such as â€Å"marketing† to help you fill out the headline prompts. The keyword is more for your reference as you receive the prompts, but the headline ideas can apply to any keyword you choose. When you receive a headline idea that you like, you can click on the heart to save it in a list for future reference. When you have enough options, you can request the list be sent to you automatically by email. To add to this tool’s value, you also have the option of free writing using their â€Å"writer’s block† section. It’s a blank canvas you can draw in to get your thoughts onto â€Å"paper.† This tool has one noticeable glitch though. Exporting your list does not always work. It might be best to type out your favorites into a separate document. This will also make it easier for you to work with the content instead of having to copy/paste from the email. Portent’s Content Idea Generator Unlike BlogAbout, Portent’s Content Idea Generator does not have an export feature. However, it does have several helpful features to make up for it. This tool gives you especially creative (sometimes controversial) headline prompts using the keyword you chose. It adds your selected keyword into the headline along with the rest of the text. With your prompt, Portent adds commentary to the words to help inspire you or simply to make you laugh. The comments can give you more ideas for the visible headline or help you create an entirely new one. HubSpot’s Blog Topic Generator HubSpot’s tool for discovering topic ideas is different from the other two tools. With their Blog Topic Generator, you insert 3 noun-based keywords. The tool will then give you 5 headline ideas based on those words. You can mix and match the headlines on your own, but HubSpot doesn’t let you do it in the tool. Instead, export the list via email or copy/paste them into an editable document. When you’re considering a topic generated from these tools, keep your reader personas in mind at all times. Even if you think the headline sounds funny or appealing, you need to stick with the ones that will attract your target readers. Pick the topics that mention or at least will cover a specific pain point in your readers. When they read content that truly speaks to their needs, they are more likely to follow-through on your call-to-action to convert into leads. Have you tried these content idea generators from @Portent, @HubSpot, and @impactbnd?Then, Create An Outline You now have a topic picked out. It’s time to start writing your draft, right? No. You always need to take the necessary step of creating an outline. Why? You’ll create structure out of your various points. You’ll make it easier on yourself when writing your draft. The outline will ensure your article’s readability factor. To create the best outline, make sure you’re creating one that has plenty of detail and all your points listed. Have your headings and subheadings ready to go. Include any research you’re going to cite, placed where they belong in your article. Add your main points, even if in fragments, to each heading and subheading. This all will make creating your first draft a lot faster, easier, and more efficient. Writing #blog post outlines will make creating your first draft a lot faster, easier, and more...Focus Your Content  On Reader Benefits Now that you know the importance of reader personas, your next step is to create content that benefits them. You want to create content that gets found in search results, but your priority should always be on helping your readers. There’s nothing worse than putting in all the effort in creating your article just to see your bounce rate increase. The important thing to remember is that your content can either put off your readers  or get them wanting more. When they choose the latter, that’s your chance at converting them via your call-to-action. When you’re writing your article, your focus should be on the following: Readability.  Is your article easy to scan and read quickly? Are your points easily understood? Use Hemingway  or the Yoast SEO plugin  to help you with this. Benefits. Does your article provide value to your readers? Are they given instructions they can take with them and apply with their own work? Readability  is key when you’re trying to keep your readers from beginning to end. To keep your blog post focused on this, it needs to follow these best practices: According to Yoast, it’s important that you write in simple English so that younger audiences would be able to understand what you’re saying. This is known as the Flesch reading ease score. Using transition words helps your readers by dividing one point from another. This makes your content easier to digest. You can use words such as â€Å"and,† â€Å"but,† â€Å"or,† â€Å"because,† etc to separate your points. For example: â€Å"The article was 5,000 words long, so the writer divided it into a series of posts.† Use enough subheadings  to make scanning your article easier. For example, if your article is 1000 words, divide it into 3-5 subheadings. Too much text per subheading, such as 500 words in block text, will make it harder for your readers to scan through. Keep your paragraphs short to keep reader focus. Shorter paragraphs help readers understand your point quicker than longer paragraphs. Make sure your sentences are short.  Longer sentences are inevitable, but you don’t want too many of them in your article. The ideal sentence length should not exceed 20 words. Avoid using passive voice  when possible. Otherwise, you make your sentences harder to read: An example of passive voice: â€Å"The article was written by Annaliese.† Switching it to active voice: â€Å"Annaliese wrote the article.† Use plenty of bulleted lists, white space, imagery, and other breaks from your block text. This will help your readers understand your points without losing focus. Benefits  are what make your content worth readers’ time. If you’re too focused on what you want from your post, you’ll neglect providing value to your readers. Blogging is about helping your readers first, so self-promotion should always be secondary. Along with giving people a reason to read, you also want to give them actionable takeaways. This is the end benefit you should offer your readers. They are looking for assistance with their own needs and efforts, so they expect to have ways to apply what they’ve learned from you. articles focus on reader benefits by ensuring that every article includes thorough explanations, step-by-step instructions, and applicable takeaways. No matter what: focus on your readers first, and give them what they came for in the first place. Make it clear why and how they should act on your CTA. As you can see from the example below, uses strong wording in their CTAs, such as â€Å"get,† â€Å"now,† and â€Å"free.† They’re expressing a sense of urgency and making their CTA a command to help visitors take action. When you're working on CTAs, use emotional words to give your visitors a reason to click through.Pay Attention to CTA Design Use different text colors or use images to help your CTA stand out, but be careful that your design doesn’t confuse or annoy your readers.  Check to see that your CTA design stands out without interrupting the flow of your article. You want your CTA to be noticeable without being intrusive. That’s why experimenting with your CTA design is key. You’ll want to find the right method for best lead generation results. Let’s look at this example from a recent HubSpot article. Their call-to-action displays a preview image and bold colors. The text is large enough to be easily noticeable. Their CTA stands out from the page’s white background. As it is located at the end of the article, it doesn’t interrupt the reader. Experiment With CTA Placement Many times, you’ll see a CTA that’s in-line with the article copy. Other times, it may be a clickable image with text overlay. Regardless, you want to use a placement that stands out from the rest of your article and page as a whole. You want your CTA to fit naturally with your article without getting lost in the flow. Whether it’s at the beginning, middle, or end of your article page, you want to choose wisely. It’s important that you experiment thoroughly with which placement converts the most visitors. There’s not one best placement for everyone, so test it until you know what works for you and your visitors. Also, don’t be afraid to add it more than once per article. You just want to make sure it doesn’t take away from your article’s readability. If your readers can’t stay focused on your article, they may leave before considering your CTA. In the above example from the Convince Convert blog, this CTA is placed at the end of their articles. It takes a wide space to really stand out to readers who made it to the end. It doesn’t interrupt the article content but rather gives readers a reason to seek more. This is a prime example of a strategically-placed CTA. How To Test Your CTAs for Copy, Design, and Placement Optimization Only make one change at a time. Continue this process until you start seeing a decline in leads generated. If you don’t see improvement with a change, revert back to the last setting and make a different change. Use your available analytics to see if the change produced more leads, the same, or less. Testing is never over. Your readership changes over time, so your CTAs should adapt as a result. The best way to stay in tune with what works for your readers is to experiment regularly with your CTA copy, design, and placement. Although you have these three elements to work with, always remember to only make one change at a time. Otherwise, you won’t know which change was the winner.
